Former Mansfield, Texas Police Officer Sentenced to 57 Months in Federal Prison, Without Parole, on Federal Child Porn Conviction United States Attorney Richard B. Roper announced that David Neal Looney was sentenced today by the Honorable Terry R. Means, United States District Judge, to 57 months imprisonment, to be followed by a lifetime of supervised release. Looney pled guilty in late May 2006 to one count of possession of child pornography. Looney, age 41, of Mansfield, Texas, is a former Mansfield police officer. He was ordered to surrender to the Bureau of Prisons on November 20, 2006. Looney admitted, in documents filed in court, that he paid for access to a website that allowed its paying members to view and download images of child pornography. Looney confessed to Federal Bureau of Investigation agents that he had images of child pornography on his home computer and gave written consent for agents to seize and search his computer. A forensic examination of the computer’s hard drive revealed approximately 110 images of child pornography. U.S. Attorney Roper commended the investigative efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Bret Helmer.
