MAN WHO ALLEGEDLY COMMITTED ARMORED CAR HEIST IN DALLAS FACES FEDERAL CHARGE DALLAS, Tx. — A federal criminal complaint was filed today in U.S. District Court in Dallas charging Freddy Lee Foots, 51, of Dallas, in connection with the September 5, 2007, Loomis armored car robbery in Dallas, announced U.S. Attorney Richard B. Roper of the Northern District of Texas. Foots is presently in state custody in Van Horn, Texas, and will make his initial appearance in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, in El Paso, Texas, later this week. Specifically, the complaint charges Foots with one count of attempting to obstruct, delay, and affect commerce and the movement of an article and commodity in commerce, namely, U.S. currency, by robbery, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1951(a) and 2. The investigation into the armored car robbery continues. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) asks that if anyone has information concerning the September 5, 2007, Loomis armored car robbery, to call the FBI at 972-559-5000. U.S. Attorney Roper and Robert E. Casey, Jr., Special Agent in Charge, Dallas FBI, thank the public who contacted the FBI and the Dallas Police Department and provided significant information. They also express their appreciation to the Dallas Police Department, the Culberson County Sheriff’s Office, the Reeves County Sheriff’s Office, FBI El Paso, Texas, and all other law enforcement agencies that have assisted in this investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rick Calvert.
