TYLER,
TX - United States Attorney Rebecca A. Gregory announced
today that a 20-year-old Longview man has been sentenced
to federal prison for drug and gun violations in
the Eastern District of Texas.
COREY
MONTEZ ALLEN pleaded guilty on June 25, 2008 to
being involved in a conspiracy to possess with the
intent to distribute and distribution of crack cocaine,
as well as a firearms charge. Allen was sentenced
today by United States District Judge Michael Schneider
to 27 months in federal prison for the drug charge
and 60 months for the firearms charge. The firearms
sentence will be served consecutive to the drug
sentence.
According
to information presented in court, an investigation
began in January 2008 into the distribution of cocaine
and crack cocaine in East Texas by Allen. A 2-count
federal information was filed charging Allen with
drug and gun violations.
This
case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation,
the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
and the Gregg County CODE Unit. The case was prosecuted
by Assistant United States Attorney Richard L. Moore.
