GREGG COUNTY MAN GUILTY OF FEDERAL DRUG VIOLATIONS TYLER, TX – United States Attorney John L. Ratcliffe announced today that a 33-year-old Longview man has pleaded guilty to federal drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas. According to information presented in court, an investigation revealed that since July 2004, Brown had been conspiring to distribute methamphetamine to others in and around the Longview area. A one-count federal superseding indictment was returned by the federal grand jury on October 2, 2007 charging 15 individuals, including Brown, with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Brown faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a $1 million fine at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set at this time. This case is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Gregg County Organized Drug Enforcement (CODE) Unit, the Gregg County Sheriff's Office and the Longview Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard L. Moore.
