DALLAS MAN WHO ROBBED BANKS IN DALLAS AND ARKANSAS SENTENCED TO NEARLY 16 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON

 

                 

DALLAS — A Dallas man, Billy Wayne Farris, who admitted robbing banks in Dallas and Arkansas last summer, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Jane J. Boyle to 188 months in prison, announced U.S. Attorney Richard B. Roper of the Northern District of Texas. Judge Boyle also ordered that Farris, 44, pay $3854.08 in restitution.

Farris admitted robbing the following banks:

• July 31, 2007 First National Bank
Phoenix Village Branch
Fort Smith, Arkansas

• August 7, 2007 Washington Mutual Bank
505 W. Twelfth Street
Dallas, Texas

U.S. Attorney Roper praised the investigative efforts of the Fort Smith, Arkansas, Police Department, the Dallas Police Department and the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanna Etessam prosecuted the case.
