Longview Bank Employees Guilty of Embezzlement

TYLER, TX—U.S. Attorney Rebecca A. Gregory announced today that two East Texas women have pleaded guilty to embezzling from a federally insured bank located in the Eastern District of Texas.

ASHLEY CATRON, 25, of White Oak, Texas, and GILLIAN DOOLEY, 24, of Longview, each pleaded guilty today before U.S. Magistrate Judge John D. Love.  Catron admitted to embezzling an amount of money exceeding $30,000.00, while Dooley admitted to embezzling an amount exceeding $10,000.00 from a federally insured bank.    

According to information presented in court, since 2004, Catron and Dooley had been taking unauthorized loans from a cash drawer located at the City National Bank in Longview, Texas, where they were employed.  A one-count Information was filed in federal court today charging them with embezzling from a federally insured bank.    

Catron and Dooley each face up to 10 years in federal prison at sentencing.  A sentencing date has not been set.

This case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Arnold A. Spencer.
