Morris County Woman Guilty of Federal Crimes

TYLER, TX—U.S. Attorney Rebecca A. Gregory announced today that a 38-year-old Morris County woman has pleaded guilty to wire fraud charges in the Eastern District of Texas. 

CHARLINE LEE GOLSTON pleaded guilty to an Information charging her with knowingly creating a scheme to defraud a local business by transmitting false information via the Internet. Golston entered her plea today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Judith K. Guthrie. 

According to information presented in court, in May 2008, Golston transmitted a credit application containing false information to Blake Furniture, a business located in Mount Pleasant, Texas, over the internet for the purpose of obtaining money and property. The amount of loss to Blake Furniture was estimated to be $4,589.26.

Golston faces up to 20 years in federal prison at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set.

This case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Traci L. Kenner.
