Texarkana Man Guilty of Robbing Texas Bank

TEXARKANA, TX—U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 41-year-old Texarkana, Texas man has pleaded guilty to bank robbery in the Eastern District of Texas.

TERRY LEE WILLIAMS pleaded guilty to bank robbery charges today before U.S. District Judge David Folsom.

According to information presented in court, on May 28, 2009, Williams entered the Capitol One Bank in the 4800 block of Texas Blvd., in Texarkana, Texas and taking less than $1,000. The money was recovered by law enforcement that same day. Williams admitted to taking the money by force and violence, or intimidation and was indicted by a federal grand jury on June 3, 2009.

Williams faces up to 20 years in federal prison at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set.

This case is being investigated by the Federal bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Denise Simpson.
