Longview, Texas Man Guilty of Federal Drug Charges

TYLER, TX—U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 31-year-old Longview, Texas man has pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas.

ERICK LAMAR ADDISON pleaded guilty to possessing with the intent to distribute crack cocaine today before U.S. Magistrate Judge John D. Love.

According to information presented in court, Addison was selling crack cocaine from his home in the Longview area. An indictment was returned by a federal grand jury on Apr. 8, 2009, charging Addison with federal drug trafficking crimes.

Addison faces up to 40 years in federal prison at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set. Addison has also agreed to the forfeiture of a firearm and ammunition.

This case is being investigated by the Gregg County CODE Unit, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Longview Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard L. Moore.
