Morris County Woman Sentenced for Wire Fraud

TYLER, TX—U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a 38-year-old Daingerfield, Texas woman has been sentenced to federal prison for wire fraud in the Eastern District of Texas. 

CHARLINE LEE GOLSTON pleaded guilty on Apr. 29, 2009, to knowingly creating a scheme to defraud a local business by transmitting false information via the Internet and was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Leonard E. Davis. Golston was ordered to serve the sentence consecutively to a 21-month sentence that she previously received revoking her supervised release. 

According to information presented in court, on May 2, 2008, Golston transmitted a credit application containing false information to Blake Furniture in Mount Pleasant, Texas, over the Internet for the purpose of obtaining money and property.  

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Traci L. Kenner.
