REWARD FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARREST AND CONVICTION OF THE “SCARECROW BANDITS” INCREASED TO $75,000.
Robert E. Casey Jr., Special Agent In Charge, Dallas, FBI, announces the reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the “Scarecrow Bandits” has been increased to $75,000.
Earlier today Comerica Bank announced they were offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a group of bank robbers dubbed the “Scarecrow Bandits”. The $50,000 offered by Comerica Bank, along with rewards previously announced by the Bank of America, North Texas Crime Commission and the FBI, increases the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the “Scarecrow Bandits’ to a total of up to $75,000.
The bank robbers were dubbed the “Scarecrow Bandits” due to their style of dress during previous bank robberies. They are believed responsible for at least eighteen bank robberies since July, 2007. These robberies included:

- 7/25/2007 Bank of America 1110 Northwest Highway, Garland, Texas
- 9/13/2007 Resource One Bank, 302 West Centerville Road, Garland, Texas
- 9/18/2007 Guaranty Bank, 1134 N. Buckner Boulevard, Dallas Texas
- 10/5/2007 Chase Bank, 1345 N. Town East Boulevard, Mesquite, Texas
- 10/27/2007 Comerica Bank, 11155 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas
- 11/15/2007 Preston National, 5644 I-635 East, Dallas, Texas
- 11/21/2007 Capital One Bank, 13410 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas
- 11/23/2007 State Bank of Texas, 500 W. Beltline Road, Richardson, Texas

The “Scarecrow Bandits” currently are working in teams of five to six, and
“takeover” a bank during a robbery attempt. These “takeovers” have included vaulting the teller counter and assaulting bank employees. These robbers have been armed with handguns and should be considered ARMED AND DANGEROUS.
Anyone recognizing these robbers or having information about their current whereabouts should call the Dallas FBI Office of the FBI at 972-559-5000 or their local police agency. These persons should not be approached by citizens who may recognize them or know their whereabouts.
