Fugitive Arrested by FBI in Amarillo, Texas

Robert E. Casey Jr., Special Agent In Charge, Dallas FBI, announced today the arrest of Don Dwayne McAdams, age 39, without incident, yesterday evening, Wednesday, April 1, 2009, in Amarillo, Texas.

Don Dwayne McAdams was arrested in Amarillo by FBI agents and Deputy US Marshals.  McAdams was charged federally on 3/27/09 in the Eastern District of Texas for the kidnapping of a minor and for interstate transportation of a minor for sex.  McAdams also has an active state warrant out of Oklahoma for lewd acts with a child.

The Oklahoma City Police Department provided information on McAdams possible whereabouts to the US Marshal Service, which notified the FBI Office in Amarillo.  McAdams was located and arrested at a home in the 8200 block of Bluebonnet in Amarillo.  McAdams was transported to the Randall County Jail to be held overnight pending his initial appearance Thursday, April 2, 2009.

SAC Casey would like to thank the U.S. Marshal’s Service, Oklahoma City Police Department, and the Amarillo Police Department for their assistance in the apprehension of McAdams.

The public is reminded that an indictment is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in criminal cases are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
